This top 20 legal firm is looking for a Conflicts Analyst to join their Compliance team on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Senior Compliance Lawyer/Manager of the Compliance team, you will be responsible for analysing information in the firm's conflict management systems and other databases as well as liaising with lawyers to identify any potential conflicts of interest relating to new matters and clients across all practice areas of the firm. You will be assisting in the implementation of internal processes for compliance with new legislation, regulation and best practice, particularly in the area of conflicts of interest and confidential information issues arising from potential and existing matters. As Conflict's Analyst you will be expected to have current knowledge of the legal/regulatory requirements relevant to the Compliance Team including case law and regulations in place in all relevant jurisdictions. This role will involve assisting compliance lawyers/ Manager of the Compliance team with training of the current team on conflicts and commercial issues. The role will also entail liaising with partners and lawyers to assist with the development of internal processes to enable compliance with regulations and develop commercial policy. You will also be expected to review submitted data to ensure completeness and accuracy and help raise compliance awareness generally within the firm.
To be a successful applicant you will have a law degree or UK/Overseas legal qualification and have conflicts experience in a multinational law firm. You must have strong knowledge of Professional Conduct rules and client care principles, ensuring the respect of a lawyer's core duties towards conflict of interests and understanding and assessing the duty of confidentiality and disclosure.
You will ideally have experience of legal business search engines and databases as well as a working knowledge of Compliance Databases, although these are not prerequisites.
