Field Fisher Waterhouse is an ambitious and growing European law firm providing commercial solutions across a range of industry sectors. The firm has a particular focus on companies that are highly regulated and those with intellectual property and technology driven business models.
Servicing an impressive client base that includes big name brands and international businesses, the firm has over 150 partners, 240 other lawyers and nearly 300 support staff across offices in Brussels, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Paris, London, Munich and Manchester. In 2011 the firm's revenue reached £94 million.
Our main areas of practice are corporate, IP, technology and regulatory law. We also have leading expertise in areas such as banking and finance, financial services, real estate, dispute resolution, personal injury and medical negligence. We are acknowledged as leading experts in sectors such as technology and communications, hotels and leisure and media as well as for our public sector work.
The Team
The Marketing Department is responsible for all aspects of marketing for the firm and consists of 20 staff. The team has responsibility for PR, internal communications, business development, tenders, website, events and publications.
We are currently looking for an Internal Communications Executive who will report to the firm’s Senior PR and Communications Manager, working in a team of three who are responsible for both internal communications and PR.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day execution of all internal communications campaigns.
- Writing all of the firm’s internal communications content including firm wide emails, daily intranet stories, weekly email newsletters, quarterly bulletins, notice board updates and a biannual magazine
- Maintaining a consistent internal communication style and tone of voice
- Managing the intranet front page and content of the firmwide pages where appropriate
- Getting out into the business to source internal news stories (including practice areas, business services, CSR, sports and social committees and all European offices)
- Interviewing staff for internal magazine features and editing the magazine
- Monitoring the Managing Partner's blog and advising on content
- Working with the Senior PR and Communications Manager on internal communications strategy
- Working with Senior PR and Communications Manager to ensure all internal communication is in line with protocol and that this is effectively enforced
- Working with the Senior PR and Communications Manager to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications
- Arranging Managing Partner briefings to staff and working with Senior PR and Communications Manager on content
- Implementing the internal communications elements of ad hoc cross-firm initiatives and campaigns.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working at a similar level in a similar internal communications role
- Experience of working within professional services organisations (desirable)
- Graduate calibre
- Excellent writing skills
- Able to communicate, guide, persuade and build relationships at all levels
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to learn to understand legal jargon and concepts
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, balance priorities and be pro-active
- Can work autonomously or as part of a team
- Experience of delivering internal communications across multiple countries and office locations.
