Learning & Development Specialist

Legal HR
South West
Job Term:
Salary Description:
Burges Salmon
Job Ref:

Are you a Learning & Development (L&D) professional looking for your next opportunity to make a difference to an organisation?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our award winning team. This is a fixed term contract opportunity to cover a period of maternity leave.

Our L&D mission is:

Using learning to enhance the performance of the business by unlocking the potential of our people. A key part of this will be to lead development and assessment centres, which are absolutely essential to nurturing our exceptional talent. Experience of running these kinds of events would be highly desirable, although you will be given clear direction and support from your experienced L&D colleagues.

Responsibilities will also include:

- Overseeing the smooth running of the lawyer curriculum.

- You would be joining us at an exciting time of change and there will be an opportunity to review and refresh how we deliver our learning.

- Experience of e-learning and blended techniques would be highly desirable as we continue to look into the best way of implementing a variety of learning methods at Burges Salmon.

- As an ambassador for the L&D team (as well as the wider People department) you will be enthusiastic, professional and self-motivated in your approach.

- You will be interacting with lawyers on a daily basis so an understanding of how they (and the wider firm) operate would be an advantage, but not essential.

We work in a highly collaborative way so there will be plenty of opportunity for you to get involved in a range of other projects including our fantastic wellbeing initiatives, industry award submissions and our burgeoning apprenticeship scheme.

Our six core values - Ambition, Collaboration, Commitment, Fairness, Quality and Respect - are at the heart of everything we do and help to shape our unique culture. As well as high quality work and exciting development opportunities, we offer our people a professional, friendly and sociable working environment with a real sense of community.

We are proud to have been awarded 'Happiest Work Place' at the National Happiness Awards in 2017, and in 2018 we were delighted to have been awarded 'Law Firm of the Year' for the third year running by RollonFriday.

Burges Salmon is an equal opportunities employer.
