Our Client is a law firm with origins dating back to the late 1700s, they are now an international law firm with nearly 700 staff located across offices in the UK, Middle & Far East.

They offer a flexible benefits package that includes holidays (buy/sell), pension, gym membership, pension etc. They also have an on-site staff restaurant.

They are looking recruit a Legal Cashier; the successful candidate will oversee the running of Client Account functions and will support the business with all cashiering tasks including overseeing 2 junior members of the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing 2 cashiers
  • Ad hoc projects from the Senior Cashier and Head Legal Cashier e.g. fee earner requests for information/reports.
  • Responsible for checking final stage and second release at Barclays / RBS online systems
  • Raising client account cheque payments and receipts
  • Continued Project work e.g. residuals / global reconciliatioN
  • Processing client to client journals
  • Operating the cashiering inbox
  • Operation of designated deposit accounts
  • Processing client to office bill payments
  • Raising office account cheque payments
  • Cover the process of CHAPS payments through online banking, Barclays RBS & Lloyds Bank
  • Entering supplier invoices into Elite and reconciling supplier statements
  • Entering counsel fee notes, experts and agents into Elite and reconciling statements
  • Processing weekly purchase ledger BACS payment runs
  • Monitoring online banking facilities for receipts and payments
  • Loading CSV files from suppliers through Excel into Elite
  • Chasing internal allocation of rechargeable disbursement
  • Reconciling bank statements with Elite cashbook entries

The Candidate

  • Experience working on Client & Office Account
  • Knowledge of SRAs
  • Knowledge of VAT regulations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
