Our client, a mid-tier law firm, who have been voted in the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for, is looking to recruit a Revenue Controller on a 14-month contract.

It’s a firm we know well, having placed several people within the team over the years, so can recommend them highly as an employer.

Reporting directly to the Finance Operations Manager, the role will be responsible for the Billing and WIP management for a designated practice area. You will be required to build business relationships with Partners and Fee-Earners, in order to liaise with them and make the monthly billing targets attainable.

The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of Legal Billing and VAT, and have the ability to work closely with colleagues at all levels.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a well-known Accounts package, whilst becoming an integral member of a friendly Finance team.

Duties include:

* Meeting & liaising with Partners and Associates on a timely basis to maximise billing for the Employment Department, agreeing appropriate follow up action where required
* Dealing with auto-billing workflow and queries, collection workflow, credit note and cancellation requests
* Supporting the Credit Controller responsible for the Employment team on resolution of queries
* Raising pro forma bills from WIP reports or from diarised requests
* Dealing with WIP write-offs, bad debt write-offs and WIP transfers
* Engrossing of bills and applying the correct rate of VAT

Person specification:

- Experienced Revenue Controller from the legal sector

- Strong knowledge of the month-end billing process

- Proactive and able to meet deadlines

- Personable and able to communicate with people at all levels
