A leading international legal practice is looking for a Client Development Manager to join its global consulting arm as part of the Asia Pacific management team, based in Hong Kong or Singapore. The team are on the front line of delivering a client experience which is very high-quality and distinctive.
The initial focus of the role will be on establishing and growing this area of business across the region. The successful candidate will bring experience developing and running a sales and/or a recruitment process and have previously held a communications, public relations, business development and marketing role within a B2B environment.
The Client Development Manager will bring strong relationship-based sales capabilities and will work with the regional team to develop their confidence, skills and frameworks to identify and convert leads and prospects. Working with the Asia Pacific leadership team the Client Development Manager will take a prominent role in building productive resourcing relationships with the major clients.
The role will work best for an individual who thrives in a fast moving and relatively unstructured environment, and who is a self-starter with lots of initiative and ideas. This role will report to the Asia Pacific Managing Director and is being offered on a permanent full time basis.
The immediate priority will be to develop the brand regionally in the talent and client markets. This will involve working collaboratively to tailor the global proposition for the local market.
The brand priorities are to:
– Drive the tailoring and activation of the brand in the talent market
– Develop strategies to build market presence and industry leadership position through development of relationships with the firm’s public relations agency and with legal commentators
– Identify and investigate appropriate forums for engaging with the talent market
– Prepare materials to assist lawyers to make the transition from permanent employment to consulting
– Implement an internal communications programme
You will have significant experience in a client-facing business development role, within a professional services environment. You’ll have experience of structured sales processes and possess a management style which encourages open dialogue across the team which helps each team member to achieve their professional and personal objectives.
You will have a proven track record building strong and sustainable relationships, and leveraging relationships commercially, excellent communication skills, with an engaging and sophisticated writing style and an exemplary service ethic with a commitment and passion to always deliver, and have exceptional organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail.
