This leading legal firm is looking for a capable and enthusiastic assistant to support the London M&BD team in BD and marketing activities for the FPG practice - a broad remit across some fast-paced and interesting areas of law.

The role will encompass a range of business development and marketing activities including: pitching and credentials; client targeting and cross-selling; client/sector and competitor analysis; profile raising and marketing campaigns including communications such as directory submissions, online content, and BD evaluation and reporting, as well as some administrative tasks to support the team.

Key responsibilities include:

Pitches & credentials: You will assist in providing and producing background research, strategy, client briefings and competitor analysis documents in preparation for pitches and other client meetings and help prepare pitch responses and credentials statements ensuring best practice methodology is applied. You will also assist with helping to input to firm-wide pitches and assist colleagues in other offices with their pitches in these practice areas.

Knowledge management: You’ll maintain key M&BD resources including on the global intranet, websites, and master credentials documents and maintain the firm's repository for directory rankings and quotations. You will support lawyers in tailoring their CVs for specific pitches and industry sectors, ensure global team lists are kept up to date with new joiners, leavers and promotions, assist in the production of internal communications and encourage full and effective use of the firm's CRM database (InterAction).

Profile raising and marketing campaigns: You’ll assist in providing support on client events/seminars, the drafting, review, collation and update of practice area entries in directories, award submissions, league tables, deal reporting and legal supplements. You will assist in the preparation of internal communications for the group, and create targeted mailing lists for newsletters, newsflashes, events, seminars.

Client account/Other tasks: You will support other teams with key client account responsibilities, including keeping key resources up to date and arranging meetings and any other administrative duties as required.

You will have previous experience in working in a business development/marketing environment within a professional services firm. You’ll possess a general understanding of the commercial world and its drivers; have good written and verbal communication skills with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to write compelling propositions. You will demonstrate a keen interest in self-development and show initiative and be a team player with a 'can do attitude'.
