This is an excellent opportunity with a Global Legal powerhouse who are changing the way they look at business development. The firm is looking for a BD Manager, with exceptional knowledge and passion, who can work on tactical opportunities that span multiple sectors.
Initially, the successful candidate would spend a significant portion of their time focusing on the ENR sector, working closely with the sector group leaders on an ambitious growth plan for the year ahead, and building teams around the firm’s key clients in the sector. During this time the Business Development Manager will have the opportunity to learn how the firm manages a particular sector, whilst starting to work on key projects that span sectors.
The role holder will manage the firm’s marketing and business development programme for tactical opportunities across sectors with a priority emphasis on the most important clients. You will develop initiatives which create and capitalise on business development opportunities for clients and provide high quality flexible business development support across the Clients and Sectors team as a whole when required. The BD Manager will own client relationship management support for a number of the firm’s most important clients and must develop an in-depth understanding of these clients, based on building an ongoing understanding of their strategy and issues through research and current awareness. You will drive client planning and reviews and develop ideas for discussion with a view to further developing the firm’s relationship with individual clients, identifying business opportunities, and subsequently develop bespoke marketing and content programmes for clients. From a pitch perspective you will be involved in high-value pitch opportunities, offering support to increase the firm’s probabilities of winning and collaborate with the centralised Pitch Centre teams to ensure there is a good understanding and knowledge base of capabilities and experience related to assist in the creation of compelling pitches.
Pre-requisites include, a strong academic background, allied to extensive marketing, business development and CRM exposure gained either in an international professional services environment or closely related BTOB firm. It is essential that The BD Manager is resilient, positive and mature in judgement, with outstanding communication and internal advisory skills.
