This prestigious UK law firm based in Westminster wish to hire an ambitious Trust Executive to join their team. The role of the Trust Manager will work with the Senior Finance Partner and Head of Private Client dealing with a client portfolio of high net worth individuals from the UK and abroad.  The firm deal with a range of Trust and Probate work as well as a number of individuals’ affairs.

 

The role will work alongside a team of professional and experienced Managers, however will be a stand alone role which will require you to handle both the financial / tax matters as well as case administration. Duties include;

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be responsible for inputting data into computer systems used by the team from bank statements, investment managers statements and year-end tax packs and the firms client account, etc
  • Manage the compliance work in respect of trusts to include the production of trust accounts
  • You will deal with day to day trust record keeping and related tax matters
  • You will be responsible for preparing self-assessment tax returns for family trusts, charitable trusts, and individuals
  • You will be expected to be flexible in your approach and willing to undertake a wide range of tasks
  • You will be fully conversant with specialist trust and probate computer software packages
  • You will be expected to keep Managers and Partners regularly updated with progress on assignments
  • You will liaise directly with trustees, and beneficiaries and progressing to taking part in client meetings, enjoying contact with investment managers and other professional advisers, such as banks, valuers and accountants

 

Personal Specification:

  • CTA or ATT (part) qualified or an experienced legal Executive/PA who has experience handling a broad mix of private client trust accounts including handling tax returns
  • Highly motivated individual who will be able to deal effectively with conflicting requirement
  • Good communication skill

 Technical Skills:

  • Computer literate; it would be beneficial to have knowledge of the specialist computer packages
  • High level of numerical skills
  • Familiarity with computer systems currently in use
  • Good knowledge of databases
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good problem solving skills
  • High degree of accuracy/attention to detail
