Document Automation Consultant, law

A global magic circle law firm requires a Document Automation Consultant to help improve the quality of their legal documents and to drive efficiency of service to clients. As part of the document automation team, you will be responsible for the development of practice and client facing automation projects, as well as the technical management of associated systems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver a first-class document automation service to their internal clients
  • Establish ongoing working relationships with the practice and business service areas to ensure delivery of a professional service to the practice
  • Provide technical expertise in the creation of new automation and AI based solutions
  • Design and implement automated document assembly solutions Identify and implement solutions which are not solely limited to document automation, such as forms, workflow and integration technologies
  • Identify opportunities where automation technologies can assist the firm with supporting clients
  • Provide technical leadership for the firm’s document automation tools, escalating issues to software vendors to resolve as required Identify opportunities for system enhancements and software upgrades which will allow the firm to provide innovative solutions
  • Ensure a good relationship with software vendors to ensure close alignment with product roadmaps which will allow the firm to capitalise on it’s technology investments.
  • Identify and define software product selections and influence product procurement.
  • Govern the chosen technology platform, providing guidance and management for significant changes and new solution selections required by the business.
  • Ensure all solutions are fully documented and knowledge is transferred within the team.
  • Establish and run education sessions to facilitate the transfer of technical knowledge to the wider automation community
  • Assess market trends and developments in the legal, automation and AI industries

To be considered for this role you will need the following skills and experience:

  • Graduate or information related qualification/legal qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a law firm
  • Enthusiastic and resilient
  • Good communicator - written and verbal to staff at all levels
  • Diplomatic
  • Multi-tasker with a pragmatic approach
  • Creative and open to new ideas
  • Self starter, keen to take ownership of the role and develop it within the context of the service
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Able to work independently
  • Document assembly experience
  • Experience of Document Automation, ContractExpress, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
