This client is an international law firm with offices across Europe, the Middle East and the Far East. Their areas of work include commercial disputes, insurance, shipping and business & finance.

Their headcount stands at over 600 and growing. They are now looking to hire a Management Accountant to act as a key point, to ensure that global policies and processes are followed, and to support 7 Offices in Europe.


Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts, month-end journals in line with Global Accounting Policy, Monthly Balance sheet reconciliations, Quarterly Balance sheet reporting pack.

Liaison with the Head of Office/Office Manager/Office Accountant in charge of each local office to discuss the management accounts and key variances.

Documenting local accounting differences with external accountants and to reconcile these with Finance and Group FC.

Manage International Accounts for European offices and aid in their reconciliations.

Quarterly projections.  Annual Budget Process.  Year-end audit.

Improve and establish processes to enhance the running of each office.

Check intercompany settlements on an agreed basis.

Reviewing cash-flows submitted by offices and ensuring quarterly settlements are being done and funding is provided where necessary.

Assisting Group Financial Controller with any special projects.

Liaise extensively with each European office.

Attend bi-monthly meeting with International Office representatives to discuss projects and future plans.

Work closely with Office Accountants to develop their knowledge and provide training as required.

Act as key contact point with our external accountants to ensure we are updated on local accounting and

tax changes and they are advised of Global projects that impact local accounts.

Candidate Profile:

Professional qualification of (ACA/ACCA) with at least 2 years’ post qualification experience.

In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP essential and international accounting experience an advantage.

Ability to supervise and proven experience in this.

Strong ability in influencing and communication (both verbal and written) skills, to strengthen relationships.

High calibre of writing and presentation skills.

Experience working in a professional services firm environment would be an advantage, including knowledge of partnership tax.

An in depth knowledge of Excel.
