Walker Morris is a leading commercial law firm operating out of one centre of excellence in Leeds. It is the largest single office law firm outside of London, with a fantastic reputation for putting the client first and delivering consistently excellent results for them. Its prestigious client base includes regional, national and international/global enterprises.

It is at an exciting juncture and has ambitious growth plans across each of its core areas in corporate, litigation and real estate. It is looking to recruit a dedicated senior business development specialist to help the firm realise its ambitions and potential. This person will also be responsible for the Key Client Development programme. You will advise the partnership on the most effective routes to market across each of its disciplines and sectors. The role will include development and implementation of effective BD and targeting plans, opportunity spotting, business generation and pipeline management of these opportunities. You will work with the imbedded marketing team to generate ideas for campaigns, thought leadership and other issues affecting the markets the firm operates in.

This will be a client-facing role and you will be representing the firm at key events and networking opportunities. You will need to build strong relationships across the partnership and be able to challenge and be challenged when appropriate. You will also manage reciprocal and intermediary relationships and look at new markets for the firm to expand into.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a firm that is really bought into business development and excited about the future. You will ideally have previous legal/professional services experience, but may be working currently in a different commercial environment, operating at a senior level. You will have a demonstrable track record within business and client development and have the credibility and gravitas to influence and coach the partners in order to drive the business forward.
