The role of the Business Development Assistant is to support the Business Development Manager in the planning, development and execution of Sector marketing plans and campaigns and to help in the identification and creation of opportunities to win new business. The role requires a flexible BDA who will primarily support the Healthcare Sector and the Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Services.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Support the BD Manager on developing, reviewing and updating planning and budgeting materials, participating in meetings, amending documents
• Supporting the BD Manager on the targeting process
• Support the development of InterAction, the firm’s contact management system (e.g. mailing list cleansing) and being a ‘champion’ within the rest of the firm
• Support the BD Manager on the pitching process
• Creating brochures, team sheets and other client facing materials, often at short notice
• Produce, distribute, analyse and report on digital newsletters, legal updates and other direct mailings, working with the CRM team
• Creating and maintaining internet and intranet content for your sectors/services
• Working with the BD Manager, co-ordinate the legal directory and award submissions process, liaising with partners and the research teams ensuring that submissions are in the correct format and delivered on time
• With the support of the events executive, helping plan, carry out, analyse and report on a variety of targeted events such as seminars, workshops, receptions and other client hospitality
• Supporting the BD Manager and working with fee earners and the firm’s PR agency on the coordination of PR activity for your sector/service groups
• Developing, populating, collating and reporting on key information for your sectors/services and ensuring they are stored in the relevant repositories and available quickly and easily for proposals and collateral
• Supporting the BDM to organise any necessary BD/Marketing training for partners/fee earners

The successful candidate should have a proven track record of results, preferably within a professional services environment. You should be IT savvy and have some knowledge of marketing databases (preferably InterAction). You should be self driven and be able to deal effectively with conflicting requirements, project management skills.
