Due to the continued growth of Osborne Clarke's UK and International business, we have an exciting, new opportunity for a Head of Financial Reporting & Systems to join our Finance team. This is a full-time, permanent role that can be based in either our London or Bristol office.

What you'll do

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the main purpose of the role is to develop a financial reporting suite for financial management, profitability performance and investments at a firm-wide level. You will be required to deliver detailed analysis of firm-wide trends, as well as recommendations of mitigating actions for any adverse areas to budget and support implementation.

You will be responsible for the financial business planning agenda, implementation and delivery. This will include the annual budgeting process. As well as this, you will be required to review current international reporting and further improve commercial data and the streamlining of the international reporting suite.

You will work a closely with the CFO, Managing Partner and International CEO, together with your peers, the Finance Director and Head of Pricing and Commercial Finance. You will be developing financial metrics and tools to support financial reporting, profitability growth, and Innovation. This will partially be achieved through further building, developing and leading the Reporting and Systems teams.

Osborne Clarke will be replacing their current Practice Management system in 2018, and you will also be required to work with the chosen consultant to select the most appropriate supplier for the firm. This will involve managing a project delivery team and taking responsibility for the successful implementation of the new system.

The successful applicant will be required to quickly win the confidence and respect of senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally, as well as having a clear drive to further improve overall business performance throughout all of the jurisdictions Osborne Clarke operates in.

What we're looking for

You will have extensive experience in leading effective teams in a complex business environment. This will ideally have been gained in a similar role within a legal or professional services firm.

Also required:

· Highly developed understanding of business strategy, possibly supported by accountancy, MBA or other relevant business related qualification.

· Financial system implementation experience

· Regulatory - Compliance Officer for Finance & Administration Experience (COFA)

· Board & Executive experience of financial performance

· Demonstrate a high level of professional expertise and insight into the commercial context of the firm.

· International Experience of commercial finance performance management

· A broad spread of experience in business and services management

· Excellent stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to build and develop relationships quickly and effectively both in person and remotely.

· Degree educated, with relevant professional qualifications.
