Head of Business Development role in Acritas Elite global law firm.

A Head of Business Development is being sought by this global law firm which has grown significantly to be one of the largest in the world. Acting as the second-in-command to the UK Business Development Director, this role plays a crucial part in implementing and enhancing this firm’s strategy to win business and grow revenue.

As UK Head of Business Development, responsibilities will include:

  • Managing workflow and prioritising the implementation of business and Marketing plans, leading the UK Business Development team (circa 40);
  • Working with the other ‘Heads of’ and the Marketing & Business Development Director to implement improvements to marketing operations and infrastructure;
  • Becoming a central figure in the firm’s client programme, working with the Sector Leaders and potentially managing a key client;
  • Leading/participating in client facing, sales-driven initiatives, such as events and roundtables, attending BD opportunities with partners and lawyers;
  • Working with the firm’s products to develop, package and execute comprehensive campaigns, prioritising client meetings and revenue-generating pursuits; and
  • Monitoring the firm’s expenditure budget, identifying trends/opportunities and providing advice.

To be considered for this role, the candidate will need significant strategic business development experience working in a professional services/partnership environment and will ideally already be at ‘Head of’ level. The candidate will have experience of working with Partners and BD teams, driving best practice and developing/implementing business and marketing plans, including budgeting, and will have a background that has included major proposal management.

The successful applicant will have demonstratable management and leadership skills across a sizable function, in addition to proven client account management skills and a track record of building and managing effective teams.

Most importantly having a proven track record of revenue generation and demonstrable ROI is key for this role.
