The London Corporate Client & Marketing Development ("CMD") team
consists of eight professionals. The team primarily supports the Corporate Practice and a range of Sector Teams to maintain our leading market profile, build our credibility in key market segments and with our target client base, pursue and win new business opportunities and retain and grow existing client relationships.


This involves: research into prospective clients, sector and markets; scoping of opportunities; project management, creation and delivery of proposal documentation; guidance to partners on winning new business and developing existing key clients; and supporting practice-specific and client development plans. The opportunities are typically multi-jurisdictional meaning close collaboration with colleagues throughout the network.

The team also has a responsibility to continually maintain deal information, prepare directory and award submissions for the groups that they individually support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the CMD support for the Global and London Antitrust Groups, supporting the implementation of the group's business plan and strategic initiatives
  • Support at least three Global Strategic client teams.
  • Support the UK CG&R sector
  • Primary contact for China outbound M&A Desk in London


You will: 


  • Work closely with Partners and associates on producing pitch documents, standard capability statements, brochures and other marketing materials
  • Support the pitch process from the initial kick-off meeting through to presentation rehearsals 
  • Help to develop and implement marketing and thought leadership campaigns, as well as supporting key client events and seminars
  • Research and analyse clients and targets using various research tools to assist in BD activities
  • Help prepare the group's key directory submissions and support the directory research cycle including liaising with the researchers and organising directory research calls
  • Work on projects with other team members when needed.
  • Have line management responsibility for a team member

Skills, Qualifications, Personal Attributes

  • Demonstrate proven experience of working in the professional services sector, ideally in a transactional practice area
  • Experience of working on competitive proposals ideally within the professional services market
  • Strong project management and analytical capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written (editing and proofing ability, and high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise projects and respond quickly to requests which have a short turnaround time
  • Track record of being pro-active and delivering high quality work
  • Generally, strong software skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional team player, highly motivated, self-starter, committed to high performance
