Network Architect

Network Architect required by a global Property Investment Management and Advisory firm to be accountable for the technical design & planning of all network services. The firm are growing and expanding rapidly; the technical architect team is responsible for continuously evaluating the best and most appropriate design and technology to support the firm, and for integrating new businesses and teams into their technology platform as the firm grows.

Key responsibilities:

* Define the network strategy and design, and establish the roadmap to ensure the IT network operates cost-effectively to meet current and forecast future business needs in terms of capacity, performance, quality, efficiency and functionality.
* Provide technical leadership for the firm's global and regional network services to ensure seamless service delivery to meet business and IT service needs.
* Oversee management of all Network issues including direct management of Global Major Incidents and associated problems. Assure management of regional issues through regional network and service delivery leads.
* Develop and manage technical partners and vendors to ensure on-time best practice and cost effective services to end users and ensure contractual agreements across the global network are in place (including corporate and regulatory compliance).
* Accountable for the transformation of regional designed networks to a Common Global Network (CGN) for all locations and services by adopting a single, integrated design, leveraging vendor technology and capabilities.
* Develop and maintains a strong understanding of technologies and services deployed within and by staying abreast of market developments ensures that the firm is able to exploit the benefits of new technologies.
* Providing technical expertise and consultation at various management levels across the organization.

Skills and Experience Required

* Extensive senior level xperience in IT service Network operations with emphasis on globally distributed teams, matrix and supply chain management
* Experience of transforming regional network architectures into highly available, scalable and low latency global network architecture to cost effectively support operations and growth
* Proven experience with system capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
* Strong planning, communications and stakeholder management skills
* Proven experience and success with WAN, LAN (and preferably WLAN and Virtualization) design and implementation
* In-depth technical knowledge of WAN, LAN, firewall and Network Visibility products such as Checkpoint, Cisco, HP, Riverbed, Solarwinds and similar products. Cisco certification preferred.
* Advanced knowledge of traditional network protocols/technologies - OSPF, HSRP/VRRP, IPv6, Spanning Tree, BGP, EIGRP, QoS, SNMP, TACACS+, AnyConnect, MPLS etc.
* Working knowledge of next generation network designs including SDN and NFV architectures
* Experience of large scale infrastructure change, business change, integration or merger an advantage
